The Hawkeyes sold out every home game during the regular season, drawing 238,620 fans. The 55,646 fans who attended the October "Crossover at Kinnick" outdoor exhibition game at Iowa's Kinnick Stadium set a women's basketball single-game attendance record.

Iowa's two home NCAA tournament games sold out, giving it the greatest first-weekend attendance in the women's tournament with 28,764.

“Please come back next year,” Bluder urged. “Please fill Carver-Hawkeye Arena next year.”

Outside the arena more than two hours before the show, fans rushed to find seats when the doors opened.

Angie Leyh of Atlantic, Iowa, took her 10-year-old daughter Lana to the event for her birthday.

They had only been to Iowa's NCAA Tournament opener versus Holy Cross this season, but when Angie realized that it was on her daughter's birthday, they drove the three hours to attend again.

“We were going to drop everything to make sure she could be here,” Leyh said as her daughter put up a birthday wish list sign, requesting to meet Clark or get an autograph or photo. All of this is amazing.”

Clark signed autographs on the arena floor after the game, as she has throughout her career. She told the audience that her two brothers idolized sportsmen as kids. “I wanted to be like them,” she remarked. “Those people allowed me to dream and be in moments like this.”
