Jessica Alba, who rose to prominence after appearing in the James Cameron television series "Dark Angel" and films such as "Sin City" and "Fantastic Four," has announced that she will be resigning from her position as chief creative officer of Honest firm, a personal care firm that she established.
She will continue to serve on the board of directors of the company, but Honest has stated that she will now be concentrating on "new endeavors."
In 2012, the actress established Honest after experiencing severe responses to infant washing detergents which she had previously used.
The company went public in May of 2021, and subsequent to its debut on the stock market, its shares experienced a surge of 44%.
There has been a consistent increase in sales at Honest Company, but the business has had a difficult time turning a profit. When the corporation reported its first profitable quarter since the middle of 2021, it did so late on Thursday.
Honest has been a true labor of love for me, one that showed me what is possible when you infuse purpose into business," Alba stated in a statement that was prepared in advance.
During her early career, Alba was cast in leading roles in the television series "The Secret World of Alex Mack" on Nickelodeon, as well as in the resurrection of the television series "Flipper" from the 1960s.
Before the opening bell on Wednesday, shares of Honest Company, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, experienced a modest decline.
