Nutrient Absorption: While raw oats are nutritious and rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, they contain phytic acid, an antinutrient that can bind to minerals like iron, zinc, and calcium, reducing their absorption in the body.  

Digestibility: Raw oats can be more difficult to digest compared to cooked oats, especially for some individuals with sensitive digestive systems.  

Soaking raw oats overnight or blending them into a smoothie can help break down the tough outer bran layer and improve digestibility. 

Risk of Contamination: Raw oats can potentially be contaminated with bacteria, fungi, or molds, particularly if they have not been properly stored or handled. 

To reduce the risk of contamination, it's essential to choose high-quality oats from reputable sources and store them in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. 

Potential for Bloating or Gas: Some individuals may experience bloating, gas, or digestive discomfort when consuming raw oats, especially if they have underlying digestive issues like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or are not accustomed to a high-fiber diet.
