First Missy Elliott headline tour with Busta Rhymes, Ciara, Timbaland

An announcement that is "out of this world" was just dropped by Missy Elliott. Out of This World—The Missy Elliott Experience, the 52-year-old rapper's debut solo tour, will visit North America this summer. Other performers on the bill include Ciara, Timbaland, and Busta Rhymes.

Fans have been asking me to tour forever but I wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family!" "Excellent," Elliott said.

A science-fictional film that was uploaded several hours prior to Monday's total solar eclipse also announced the tour. Seen outside of a spaceship, Elliott, Busta Rhymes, and Ciara come to terms with the fact that they have landed on an alien planet due to a misstep. This "supernova announcement" by Elliott "eclipsed" Monday's "solar phenomenon," according to the press statement that announced the tour.

Inductee Elliott became the first female rapper into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year, and this tour follows her historic achievement. "Words cannot describe" the immense honor that this was, she said on "Good Morning America" in November. "When you're in the hip-hop world, it seems so far out of reach," according to her.

The singer of "Work It" made the statement on Monday, "This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone 'firsts.'" She was referring to the induction and the tour.

Her 24-city tour will kick out on July 4 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver and end on August 22 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

"Missy has always been an iconic groundbreaker and continuously pushes herself to be bolder and go where she has never been before - and surprisingly, one of those places is headlining her own tour!" expressed the rapper's manager Mona Scott-Young in a statement.
