Alan Dershowitz and Ron Goldman's father discuss O.J. Simpson's death.

The death of O.J. Simpson on Thursday rekindled public interest in his landmark 1995 murder trial and brought back terrible memories for those affected.

Simpson was acquitted of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, ending the "trial of the century." Fred Goldman, Goldman's father, told that Simpson's death further deepened his sadness for his son, who was found stabbed to death outside Brown Simpson's Los Angeles house on June 12, 1994.

"The only thing I have to say is, it’s just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years," Fred Goldman said via phone. "The world doesn't lose much. Another reminder of Ron's absence."

"We will continue to advocate for the rights of all victims and survivors, ensuring our voices are heard both within and beyond the courtroom," the couple said. "Thank you for keeping our family, and most importantly Ron, in your hearts for the last 30 years."

Alan Dershowitz, a prominent lawyer who advised Simpson's legal "Dream Team" together with Johnnie Cochran and F. Lee Bailey, told NBC News that he was heartbroken by his former client's death.

I'm upset he died because I knew he was unwell, Dershowitz added. He became familiar to me during the trial. It was one of the most racially charged cases in American history. The Bronco chase, glove, and acquittal will forever define him."

"On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer," family said. His children and grandkids encircled him. His family requests privacy and grace throughout this journey."

Simpson's lawyers included Kris Jenner's late husband Robert Kardashian, his buddy. After Simpson's death, Caitlyn Jenner, who married Kris Jenner until 2015, tweeted "Good Riddance."
