1901 Morgan Silver Dollar

The 1901 Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the later issues of this iconic series, which ran from 1878 to 1904, with a final mintage in 1921. Designed by George T. Morgan, the Morgan Silver Dollar is renowned for its beautiful artwork and historical significance.

On the obverse (front) of the coin, Lady Liberty is depicted as a youthful figure, facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap with the word "LIBERTY" inscribed on a ribbon. The date "1901" is positioned below her portrait.

The reverse (back) of the coin features an eagle with outstretched wings, clutching arrows and an olive branch, surrounded by a laurel wreath. The motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed above the eagle.

The 1901 Morgan Silver Dollar was struck at several U.S. Mint facilities, including Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Carson City. Each mint location can be identified by a mint mark, located above the denomination on the reverse of the coin.

As with other Morgan Silver Dollars, the 1901 issue is highly collectible among numismatists and coin enthusiasts. Its value is influenced by factors such as its condition, mint mark (if any), rarity, and demand among collectors.

Well-preserved examples and those from scarcer mint facilities typically command higher prices in the numismatic market.

Owning a 1901 Morgan Silver Dollar allows collectors to own a piece of American history and appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship of these iconic coins.

Extraordinary Values: While most Bicentennial Quarters are readily available and circulated, rare specimens with unique characteristics can command extraordinary values at auctions and in the collector's market.
