$1.3bn Oregon sells Powerball winning ticket amid draw delays.

The highly awaited drawing for the Powerball jackpot, which was delayed due to what the Multi-State Lottery Association stated was the need for additional time to fulfill security measures, was finally won by a lucky player from Oregon on Saturday. The jackpot was worth $1.3 billion.

According to the website of Powerball, there was a single winner from the state of Oregon, and the winning numbers were 22, 27, 44, 52, 69, and 09 respectively.

A cash value of $621 million is associated with the $1.33 billion prize, making it the fourth-largest payout in the history of Powerball. Following the drawing, a winless skid that had lasted for more than three months came to an end.

The draw also resulted in seven winners who each won one million dollars. Initially, the drawing was supposed to take place at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

According to a press release, under the regulations of the Powerball lottery, each and every ticket that is sold across the country must be validated and verified against two distinct computer systems before a drawing can take place.

It was stated in the press release that this was done in order to guarantee that each and every ticket that was purchased for the Powerball drawing was accounted for and had an equal opportunity to win.

Tonight, we have one jurisdiction that need additional time in order to finish the pre-draw procedure.

Customers were instructed to keep their tickets in their possession. And once the pre-drawing procedures were complete, the drawing would be undertaken under the observation of “lottery security officials and independent auditors.”
